HOW TO MAKE YOUR HAIR LESS GREASY

Greasy hair is no fun. It builds up quick and weighs down your precious ‘do! Lucky for you we’re breaking down the steps to less greasy hair!

SHAMPOO LESS

We know what you must be thinking. Isn’t this backwards? Shouldn’t I shampoo my hair more if it’s more greasy? NO BABES! Shampooing your hair too often can strip your hairs of its natural oils and cause your scalp to start over-producing oil, causing greasiness.
We recommend going in with a trusty shampoo 2-3 times a week instead of daily washes. This will allow your hair’s natural oils to replenish and protect your scalp for healthier hair.

CONDITION ENDS ONLY

Conditioning your scalp could be a contributing cause to your greasiness. Try only conditioning from the middle of your hair down to the ends, avoiding the scalp. This will prevent product buildup in your hair and reduce overall greasiness!
We also recommend going in with a moisturizing conditioner to super-nourish those ends that your hair’s natural oils may not reach!

FINISH WITH A FLASH OF COLD

Another thing to avoid is showering in overly hot water. Water temperatures that are too high cause excess dryness of the scalp, which triggers it to produce more oil. A good way to combat this is to finish your shower with a flash of cold water to seal your cuticles and prevent moisture loss!
