HAIR SHEDDING: WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO PREVENT IT

Do you always find those random strands of hair all over your house? We feel you, girl! Hair shedding is a common hair problem that many have struggled with. DON’T FEEL LIKE YOU’RE ALONE BABE! Lucky for you we’re breaking down everything you need to know about hair shedding, and what you can do to prevent it.

WHAT IS HAIR SHEDDING?

Hair shedding isn’t always something to worry about. Some of our hairs are naturally shed all day, everyday. But if you are experiencing excessive hair shedding or even bald spots, there may be more underlying reasons behind it. We’re going over the small things you can add or change to your hair routine that can solve all your hair probs!

AVOID OVERSTYLING

We can sometimes get caught up in how cute we look with our hair curled. WE’VE TOTALLY BEEN THERE BABE! But if you think you suffer from excessive hair shedding then you might need to give your hair more breaks in between those styling sessions.

EAT YOUR VITAMINS

It sounds cliché but it really does start on the inside babe! Making sure your body is healthy and well-nourished is the first step to improving your hair’s health.

AVOID CHEMICAL PROCESSING

We love to change up our hair color just as much as the next gal, but hear us out on this one babe! If you want to stop excessive hair shedding, but still want to change up your ‘do, we recommend going to a salon to have your hair color treated. This is because box dyes contain more harmful chemicals that are KILLING your hair from root to tip! Invest in your good hair days by paying a visit to the salon instead!

GET REGULAR TRIMS

Did you know that damaged and split ends can travel up your hair shaft and end up damaging the entire strand? Avoid this by getting trims regularly. Hairstylists recommend getting a little trim every 3-5 months!

MASSAGE YOUR SCALP

This tip may just be the easiest one on this list! When shampooing your hair, massage your scalp for at least 1 minute to stimulate hair growth, and enhance the strength of your roots. A happy scalp holds on to more hair!
